The Royal Malaysian Customs Department - RMCD will going to impose a tourism tax starting from 1st September 2017. This tourism tax will charged to every tourist staying at any accommodation made available by any operators in Malaysia. Malaysian nationals or permanent residents are exempted from this tax.


This tax will not be a part of reservation made with hotel / accommodation and will be collected by the reservation staff on arrival for stay on or after 1st September 2017. The amount of tax will be MYR 10.00 ( approx. USD 3.20) nett per room per night and applicable on all existing as well as new hotel reservations.
