Day 1: Delhi
Arrive in Delhi to a warm welcome by our Plan Journeys tour representative. You are escorted to your hotel for check in and to refresh yourself. You have the evening free to explore Chandni Chowk or take in the sights and do some shopping. Stay the night in your comfortable room because tomorrow you will leave for Shimla.
Day 2: Delhi-Shimla
Breakfast on chole bhature and then you board the coach that takes on you one of the loveliest ride covering a distance of 385 kmin 10 hours. The ride is punctuated by stops along the way to stretch your legs. One such stop is the beautiful Pinjore Gardens. Have lunch at awayside dhaba and finally you arrive in Shimla where you check into your hotel.You could go out in the evening to explore the Mall and then retire for the night in your comfortable room.
Day 3: Shimla excursions
After a hearty breakfast it is time to goon an excursion to Kufri, a charming, untouched resort not far from Shimla seta mid the mighty Himalayas. Walk through the Himalayan National Park and admire the birds andanimals. You can take a pony or yak ride here after which we return to Simlafor some local sightseeing. The famous landmarks of Shimla are the Vice RegalLodge, a colonial structure dating back to 1885 and sitting at one end of theroad. Another equally old structure is the Gaiety Theatre set up in 1887 and then there is the institution, the Grindlays Bank dating back to 1912. Walkalong the Mall and you come up to Scandal Point where you tarry awhile toadmire the spread of nature before you down in the valley. Return to your hotel by way of the Mall, shop a little, sample local cuisines and then retire forthe night.
Day 4: Shimla-Manali
After a hearty breakfast we set out for Manali, the pearl of a hill station located at the far end of the Kullu Valley.The 265 km drive through scenic, winding countryside takes 8 hours to cover and you arrive here in the evening. On the way there are stops at the famous Hanoji Mata Temple and the scenicPandho Dam. Check into your hotel, freshen up and set out on your own to explore the surroundings. Stay the night in your cozy room.
Day 5: Manali sightseeing
Breakfast over it is time for local sightseeing. Manali is not only a gloriously scenic resort, it is also woven with legends dating back to antiquity. It is home to temples like the unique temple dedicated to Manu and the Hadimba temple. While here you go on to the Tibetan Monastery for a spiritual experience of the way of life of the Monks. Amust visit spot is the Vashisth Bath where you will find a temple to Lord Rama and hot springs.A short walk brings you to the Pin Valley National Park, home to the snow leopars and Siberian Ibex.Refreshed and a bit tired you return to your hotel room for well deserved rest.
Day 6: Rohtang Pass
A hearty breakfast puts you in the mood for today’s trip which is to the one andonly Rohtang Pass, a 100 km round journey to thehighest pass at a height of 3979 metres. The couple of hours pass magically as you admire the craggy, steeply sloping countryside with valleys in the distance. The Passover looks the Lahaul valley, a lovely sight for your eyes. While here you visit Nehru Kund from where you can look down a dizzyingly deep gorge through whichthe river Beas rushes forward. Another attraction is Rahalla Falls. Finally, we move to Solang, a picturesque picnic spot and take a break. Rested, you then boardthe coach for the 50 km drive back to Manali for the stay in your warm room.
Day 7: Manali-Chandigarh
Wake up to a beautiful dawn and breakfast on hot delicacies. Afterwards you board the coach that will take you one another beautiful drive across 320 km to Chandigarh.On the way we stop at the Kullu Vaishno Devi temple, visit a few shops and do some shopping. Arrive in Chandigarh after 10 hours and check into your hotel. Late in the afternoon we set out to explore the modern planned city famous for its Rose and Rock gardens and the lake. Take a boat ride here and then return to the hotel for the overnight stay.
Day 8: Chandigarh-Delhi
Breakfast and then board the coach for the return to Delhi since the Shimla holiday package ends here, leaving you satisfied.Arrive in Delhi where our guide helps you with onward transportation to the airport or the railway station.
