Day 1: Arrive at Srinagar
Every traveler travelling with Plan Journeys to Srinagar Ladakh trip is always advised to keep documents in perfect order as both Srinagar and Ladakh are high security places where all documents are subject to close scrutiny. On the first day of your trip you will be transferred to one of the best hotels of your choice in Srinagar. The first day is kept for local sightseeing, shopping for Kashmiri handicrafts and sampling delicious Kashmiri food. After a sumptuous relaxed dinner you can opt to stay on a houseboat in Dal Lake.
Day 2: Srinagar to Kargil
The second day of the trip is reserved for two wonderful places; Sonmarg (the meadow of gold) and Kargil (the seat of Indian Heroes and LOC). While Sonmarg is an exquisitely beautiful place full of gushing streams, saffron fields and exotic flowers, Kargil is rugged terrain that will demonstrate the picture of wars that were fought to save India. Kargil Museum visit is a moving experience. You will also have an opportunity to visit the eerie cold Drass Valley which attracts people for adventure sports. You will be escorted into a hotel of your choice for overnight stay.
Day 3: Kargil to Leh Trip
After a hot and early breakfast you will be driven to Leh the exotic capital city of Ladakh. Leh is full of wonderful places for sightseeing and you can visit Leh Palace, Museum, Lamayaru and Alchi Monasteryetc. The Alchi Monastery is rumored to be one of the oldest monasteries in the world. Leh market will give you a unique opportunity to shop for Tibetan artifacts and prayer beads. At night have a delicious dinner of Thupka, Momos and glass noodles. Stay overnight at one of the best hotels in Leh and rest well.
Day 4: Leh to the Kahrdungla Pass and the Nubra Valley
After a hot and early breakfast (including Gurgurthe local butter tea) you will be driven to the picturesque Nubra Valley. The journey will take you through Khardung La Pass which is one of the highest motorable passes in the world standing at a stunning height of 18,380 feet. The entire journey is dotted with splendid views and you will not be able to put your camera away. The Nubra Valley is also fondly called the valley of flowers as more than 3000 species of exotic flowers bloom here. This place is in the northern side of Ladakh and is sandwiched between the Karakoram and the Ladakh mountain ranges of Himalayan terrain. After wards you will be taken to Hunder Sand Dunes Park which is India’s only white cold desert park. Ride on Bactrian two humped camels and enjoy touring the place. Later be escorted to cultural Diskit Village for some shopping and sightseeing and Monastery. After wards enjoy a traditional Ladakh dinner and enjoy song and dance performance which will be organized at Camp in Hunder. You can alternatively stay in a hotel of your choice too.
Day 5: Nubra Valley to Leh
After exploring Nubra Valley fully for the morning take the same route back via the Khardung La Pass. You can stay for the rest of the day in Leh and explore places like Pangong Lake, Nezer Latho, community center and the exotic Hem is National Park. Don’t miss out on a visit to the Shanti Stupa which was established by Dalai Lama and the stunningly beautiful Tso Moriri Lake. After dinner at one of the best restaurants in Leh it is now time for dinner and a restful nights’ sleep at hotel in Leh.
Day 6: Leh to Pangong Lake
The famous Pangong Lake has been represented in many Bollywood movies and is a place of stunning beauty. The lake can be reached via the eastern direction of Leha after crossing the Changla Pass which is at a height of 17500 feet and a drive across the quaint little villages of Durbuk and Tangtse in the Changthang zone of Ladakh. The most interesting fact about the Pangong Lake is that it changes its colours 5 times in a day. Afte rphotography, boat ride, sight-seeing and local thupka and T momos its time todrive back to your hotel in Leh for a comfortable night’s rest and stay.
Day 7: Leh to Sangam to Hall of Fame to Kargil
It’s now time for you to head back to Sangam from Leh for some amazing sightseeing and exploration. The first stop on your agenda is the Hall of Fame which contains documentation of the lives of Kargil heroes.The second is Gurudwara Pathar Sahib the highest elevation Gurudwara. The third stop is magnetic hill which can make cars automatically creep up slope. Lastly finish of the days adventure with some river rafting at the confluence of Zanskar and the Indus River. The nights’ stay will be arranged post a delicious dinner at hotel in Kargil.
Day 8: Kargil to Sonmarg to Srinagar
After all the action and adventure in Kargil you will now be driven back to the lovely meadow of gold or Sonmarg. Sonmarg is full of opportunities for trout fishing if you happen to arrive in season. You can also opt to drive to Baital which is a lovely valley at the base of Zojila hills. The Zo Ji La pass is also a wonderful place to explore. After exploring all this you will be driven back to your houseboat in Srinagar where you can spend the night.
Day 9: Airport Transfer from Srinagar
